Antichi Poderi di Jerzu is the cooperative winery founded in 1950 in the south-eastern part of Sardinia, which enables over 400 small farmers to sell their crops at decent prices. The oenologist is Franco Bernabei, who has accompanied the winery for over twenty years and has made it one of the leading producers on the island. Josto Miglior, physician, was one of the initiators of the Antichi Poderi Jerzu Cooperative in 1950. The small farmers in the region, far from everything, were paid miserably by the wine merchants, who each delivered their grapes for a sandwich and could barely afford a decent meal for the money, let alone feed a family and certainly not pay the doctor. Today, one of the best locations near Jerzu is harvested separately and processed into this wine. It is a kind of flagship of the Antichi Poderi, which also guarantees their members modest prosperity thanks to this wine. The wine is strong, supple, with a spicy bouquet that is reminiscent of vanilla and cinnamon, as well as the berry, wild notes. Elegant on the palate, long-lasting, harmonious.
