About the wine
Blooming and fertile Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Il Borro conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. This dominant Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 — Il Borro Rosso Toscana IGT wooden box is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Cabernet Sauvignon is very good to serve with Gruyère burgers or pizza with mushrooms.
Tasting note
Il Borro, the flagship of the eponymous winery, is mentioned in the same breath as other large Super-Toscans in the region. Deep ruby red with vivid bright red reflections. On the nose, dark fruits of elderberries and cassis as well as rich spicy notes and some leather. On the palate, the aromas are powerful and concentrated, yet velvety with a perfectly balanced acid-tannin ratio. Rich, long aftertaste.

Vinification
The grape varieties are all picked by hand and vinified separately. Traditional maceration for 22 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The wine is then aged for 18 months in new Allier barriques, followed by eight months of bottle aging.
