Hard limestone in the subsoil and calcareous clay in the ground layer make Hundertgulden the most calcareous vineyard in Germany. In the nose there is a lot of exotic fruit, mango and papaya, you smell the lime, then also cooler aromas with gooseberries and herbal notes. Significantly subdued and sparse on the palate, intense minerals come through from the limestone soil, fresh hay, plus juicy acidity, apricots, a powerful finish round off this great Riesling, pineapple and lemon in the aftertaste.
