About the product

Aged primarily in European and American oak barrels, which were previously seasoned with sherry, our iconic 12-year-old single malt whiskey impresses with its spicy and balanced depth. It is packed with aromas of sun-kissed Seville oranges and rich fruitcake spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Melted heather honey is discovered in the waves of heather smoke. Enjoy it with a handful of wasabi peas, with a juicy fried rib-eye steak or with smoked salmon and sour cream.

Tasting note
Viking Honour is the heart and soul of Highland Park. It reflects the unique culture of the remote island of Orkney - part of Scotland yes, but originally it belonged to a huge Viking kingdom. “The biggest all-round whiskey in the world of single malt” — this is the aptly described by whiskey expert and author Michael Jackson. It is smooth, balanced, with a fruity taste and a soft, smoky finish.
Vinification
Scotland's northernmost distillery The Highland Park distillery is located on the Orkney Islands off the northernmost tip of Scotland. Their whiskeys, as well as their island home, are shaped by the wild climate, the stormy seas and the Vikings, who settled here over 1,000 years ago and left their mark on people and culture. Magnus Eunson, founder of Highland Park was a direct descendant of the Vikings. Butchers and church workers by day, smugglers by night, he distilled in a small hut near High Park with a view of Kirkwall — where the distillery still stands today. Officially, Highland Park was founded in 1798, but in reality this was the year in which the authorities were finally able to catch Magnus — whiskey had already been made before that. With the exception of smuggling, very little has changed since then. Highland Park remained true to its founder's high quality standards and shares with him his bold and uncompromising approach. In fact, you could say that Highland Park is a whiskey made the old way by a new generation of Vikings. The five pillars of Highland Park are: aromatic peat, hand-malted barley, sherry oak barrels, cool storage, barrel harmonization.
