About the wine

The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it wasn't until Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter winemaker and turned everything upside down, that the glorious times of the 1960s to the 1980s are built on again. Gut Hermannsberg only owns large vineyards and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of prime locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is being showered with lots of praise, points and awards.

Tasting note
Zeus. Divine authority, seems to be above everything, watching over everything and spreading both splendor and terror in his whimsical manner, initially in a good mood, substantial peace, creamy and exotic fruit, floral notes, what a delicacy, but also bossy, with an almost playful sacrifice, fresh bright spicy fear, citrus, tart light minerality, fresh tart herbs, taut. On the palate, initially powerful peace, sits firmly in Olympus, then returns bossy, rough, taut, stone, sparkling anger, lets lightning fly into the paradisiacal fruit as if with the snap of a finger, wonderfully ripe, cutting acid, tart anger, then again soothing, mild, creamy sweet fruit in addition to the tart notes. What a mystical, divine, moody Riesling — the most sublime and unpredictable in the big 2016 collection!
