Tasting note
This famous location is one of the best on the Upper Nahel. The proximity to the river creates a warm microclimate, which allows Riesling to mature perfectly. It is an elegant, very mineral and sustainable, structured dry Riesling with remarkable complexity. On the nose, scents of wet stones and herbs as well as lemon fruits combine ripe and concentrated Riesling aromas.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with fine fish dishes, seafood, Asian-inspired dishes, goat cheese, green asparagus dishes, or even as a fine menu wine for fine cuisine. Even pure, it is an impressive wine for Riesling lovers.
Vinification
Selective hand picking, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, aging on fine yeast to promote texture and complexity. The wine comes from the renowned Halenberg vineyard — known for its barren, stone-rich soils, which give Riesling expression, minerality and longevity. The style is puristic, crystal-clear and terroir — in line with the philosophy of the Hees winery.
