Grillo Bianco IGP 2025 - Abbazia Santa Anastasia

Unfortunately, there is not too often crispy fresh white wine in Sicilia; the whites here are usually rather heavy, if not overloaded. Not so the Grillo the Abbazia Santa Anastasia. The vines are all located on the seashore sloping north (view of the Aeolian Islands). This has the distinct advantage that the sun doesn't press too hot on the vines, the entire vegetation process is a bit slower and therefore the freshness (not just of the white varieties!) is fully preserved. The Grillo by Francesco Lena, the owner of this unique winery, whose origins date back to the 11th century, also shows its spicy typicity, its subtle, unmistakable aromas in a very fresh, playfully light way.
