The Gravensteiner apple variety dates back to the 17th century and is appreciated as a very juicy and highly aromatic table apple of excellent quality. Styria offers ideal climatic conditions for this variety. In order for the apples to develop their full aroma on the tree, they are carefully picked by hand in several rounds. This is the only way to ensure that the apples used for the Rochelt Gravensteiner apple have reached the optimal level of ripeness when they are crushed. After controlled natural fermentation and distillation twice, the extracted core matures in open glass balloons for at least six years. This makes the schnapps milder and softer as the force and sharpness of the alcohol disappears. The Gravensteiner apple from Rochelt is a 100% pure and unfiltered distillate full of delicate, fruity apple aromas.
