About the wine

The Le Clos de Caveau winery is located in Vacqueyras, around 35 km northwest of Avignon and was acquired in 1976 by Gérard and Nicole Bungener, who thus laid the foundation for their family winery. As pioneers in organic farming, the Bungeners converted their estate back in 1980 and received official recognition in 1989. Henri Bungener has been managing Clos de Caveau since 1994 and has made the 14-hectare estate one of the best addresses in the Vacqueyras appellation. He succeeded in this primarily because, in addition to his consistent organic work, he also consistently interprets the terroir.

Tasting note
Dense purple with red reflections. The scent is concentrated, very floral of lavender, violets and herbs, accompanied by raw meat and black wild berries. On the palate, juicy dark berries and stone fruits, all very clear and supported by handy tannin. The wine has good meatiness and is at the same time animating and uncomplicated.
