About the wine

Michel Lafarge, a sounding name and a big figure, Burgundy experts click their tongues, but barely known here. A few years ago, son Frédéric Lafarge and his wife Chantal (née Vial) founded Domaine Lafarge-Vial in Beaujolais, excellent terroirs, very old vines. They remain true to themselves, biodynamic management (not yet certified), classic work in the cellar, everything is done by hand, the steep slopes are managed with horses and the wines make you sit up and take notice from the very first vintages, wonderful fresh, precise, mineral wines that express their terroir in an unadulterated way. Anyone who only tastes these wines will never understand where the dubious reputation of Beaujolais comes from, simply great.
