About the wine
If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it will be this provocative white wine 2017 Fiano Pugliese Clara. Blooming and fertile landscapes in Puglia give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Giancarlo Ceci conjures up this white wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
Intense, complex with notes of ripe peaches, white flowers slightly peppery, in the end wild mint. Very pleasant on the palate with well-integrated acidity, slight spiciness, structured and long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aperitifs, seafood, white fish, chicken and risotto.
Vinification
The Fiano grape variety has probably been cultivated in southern Italy since ancient times. Historians suggest that it is identical to the Vitis apiana variety described by ancient Roman authors. Because like the Vitis apiana (Latin for apis = bee), the Fiano also has a high attraction for bees. Her parent vines appear to have died out, and in the 1970s, Fiano was also threatened with this fate. Only a few vines of the long-established traditional variety were left in Campania back then. It was only in the 1990s that the vine population had recovered. The wine is also vegan certified. Total acid 5 g/l; dry extract 25 g/l.
