About the wine
With sensitivity and intuition, the winemaker from the South African winery Zandvliet masters this red wine in the beautiful and fertile landscape of the Breede River Valley. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you offer this Shiraz with roasted vegetables or game.

Tasting note
The wine introduces you to a ripe, complex nose that shows aromas of plum, black currant and pepper with a touch of mixed spices. These deep aromas result in a seamless, smooth and complex palate with added notes of dark chocolate.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty meat dishes. The combination with beef bourguignon, lamb chops or game dishes is particularly recommended. It is also an ideal accompaniment to aged cheese or a hearty mushroom risotto.
Vinification
The grapes for this 100% Shiraz come from vineyards with calcareous, red clay and slate soils. Fermentation took place at 25—30 °C with intensive pumping processes to extract color and aromas. The malolactic fermentation took place in tanks, followed by two annual tastings. The wine then aged for 18 months in used French 4000 liter foudres, which gives it a balanced structure and depth.
