About the wine
DUORUM expresses the terroir of the fantastic Douro wine region. The Latin term means “from two” and stands for a project by two winemakers, from two regions, with grapes from two exceptional and protected terroirs — Cima Corgo and Douro Superior — at two different altitudes.

Tasting note
Deep red, dense color. Intense, concentrated and complex aroma dominated by ripe black fruits such as blackberries, blackcurrants and plums, complemented by floral violet notes and exotic wood aromas. The complexity, which increases with aging, comes from the aromas developed during aging in wooden barrels. Noticeable acidity, strong but ripe tannins, well integrated into body and volume. These characteristics, together with the intense retronasal aroma, result in a full, intense wine with a long and persistent finish.
Vinification
The grapes come from vineyards, most of which are very old (over 50 years, Field Blend). After arrival at the winery, they are carefully selected and destemmed. This is followed by cold maceration before fermentation in stainless steel tanks with automated understamping. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (25—28 °C). During fermentation, classic over-pumping and délestage are carried out in order to specifically extract only the desired ingredients. The vinification ends with post-fermentative maceration, during which the mash remains in contact with the must for up to 18 days.
