About the wine

Merum Priorati with its modern wine press is located in the town of Porrera in the very east of Priorat. The mighty Montsant mountain range protects it from the cold northerly winds, while the night winds from the nearby sea cool it down. Porrera is therefore one of the coolest corners of the otherwise very hot Priorat. The vines appreciate this and thank it with finesse and elegance. The soils dominated by slate (“licorella”) are not particularly deep, which forces the vines to take deep roots and brings complexity, richness and minerality to the wines. In addition to international vines, the grape variety index includes traditional Garnacha and Carignena. |
