About the wine
In the lovely Tuscan hills south of Florence, the 12th century castle is surrounded by vines. The 102 hectare estate has 52 hectares of vines and 20 hectares of olive trees, the rest consists of fruit trees and forest. In recent years, the original wine cellar has been renovated with small and large wooden barrels. In addition to the production of wine, olive oil and wine vinegar, Castello di Gabbiano also offers guest rooms.

Tasting note
Intense notes of red berries. Aromas of sweet spices, coffee, chocolate and vanilla dominate. Full on the palate, silky tannins together with a sweet and spicy finish and aftertaste.

Goes well with meat dishes, poultry, cheese
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks, followed by 6 months aging in barriques and 3 months flat fermentation.
