About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Spanish winery Cruz de Alba masters this red wine in the picturesque and enchanting landscape of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon). With this present red wine 2012 — Cruz de Alba Riserva Ribera del Duero Tempranillo DO, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Tasting note
This reserve is stored in French barriques for 20 months. It smells intensely of dark fruits, toast and a touch of cream. On the palate, complex, fresh and elegant with beautifully rounded tannins and an aromatic, long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with Gruyère surchoix, deer pepper or charcuterie Like salami.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place with frequent manual stirring of the pomace hat in small vats. The aging takes place in French oak barriques for 24 months. The “tercios” or third method is used: One third of the wine is stored in twice used barriques, one third in used barriques and the rest in new ones. After bottling, the wine spends an additional 12 months in the bottle
