Coteaux de Bassenon 2019 - Domaine Stéphan

The cuvée of Syrah, Viognier and the once almost forgotten Serine grape variety recultivated by Stephane Bassenon is dark and aromatic: smoke, graphite and freshly tanned leather set the olfactory tone. After some aeration, the dark blackberry aromas and cocoa come to the fore. On the palate, it is dense but not heavy and covers the black center of the fruit with its tannins. Notes of dark chocolate and sweet tobacco are added. An immense aftertaste is accompanied by a saline vein and invigorating acidity. The wine benefits from carafing before consumption and is even more diverse. Be adventurous and try it with grilled swordfish with blackberry-mint jus or chestnut-sage risotto.
