About the wine
If you're looking for something special, then don't miss out on this biting red wine — Costamiòle DOCG Nice. The fertile and picturesque landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Prunotto conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Barbera with antipasti or hearty, dark meat.
Tasting note
Intense ruby with purple reflections. Very clear and distinct on the nose, with notes of sour cherries, blackberries, fruit drops and also spicy components. Juicy on the palate, with finely polished tannins, aromas of ripe berries, some cedarwood, leather and tobacco. In the finale with wonderful balance and good complexity.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with taglierini al ragù, but also with venison fillet or wild boar.
Vinification
The Barbera grapes from the individual “Costamiòle” vineyard are harvested by hand, then selected, crushed and fermented in steel tanks on the mash. The aging takes place in barriques for twelve months. To refine, the wine ages in the bottle for a further 18 months.
