About the wine
Blooming and fertile landscapes in South Tyrol give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Alois Lageder conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. With this provocative red wine 2015 — Conus Lagrein Riserva DOC, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Lagrein is very good to serve with seafood or Riz Casimir.

Tasting note
Deep ruby with purple reflections. Intense, dark-fruity nose. Ripe plums, blackberries, some cassis. This is combined with delicately spicy aromas, dark chocolate, licorice, and also a touch of floral notes. On the palate with a strong start. A full-bodied wine with a juicy, racy structure. Significant presence of tannins. As befits a Lagrein. The aromas of the nose are repeated, plus slightly earthy tones. Long, textured finish.
Culinary recommendation
Requires hearty food. For example game dishes or even cold meat and cheese platters.
Vinification
The grapes for this wine come from bio-dynamic farming. Fermentation in steel tanks is spontaneous and lasts approximately 15 days. The young wine is aged for twelve months. Partly in steel tanks, partly in small 225-liter wooden barrels made of Allier and Nevers oak. 1/3 of the barrels are new and 2/3 are in use for the second year.
