About the wine
One of Switzerland's most popular white wines: With the Conte della Vipera, the Marchesi set Antinori in 1997 a new accent in Umbrian quality viticulture. The label is a tribute to the former builders of Castello della Sala, and the bottle shape also deliberately refers to the great white wines of French Loire Valley. As there, the focus is on Sauvignon Blanc. This is how a characterful white wine is made with origin, history and mineral finesse — a wine full of style and a moment of pleasure with a certain effect.

Tasting note
Strong straw yellow. Intense, fruity aromas: grapefruit, elderflowers, pears and gooseberries. On the palate, the wine is complex, with notes of pome fruit, white flowers and fresh grass. This is accompanied by an elegant touch of exoticism. The finish is harmonious and supported by a well-supporting acid structure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with saltwater fish and crustaceans.
Vinification
A selection of the best Sauvignon blanc portions is used for this white wine. After harvesting and pressing the grapes, fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a maximum of 18° C. The young wine does not degrade. A small portion of Sémillon (fermented separately in barriques) is then added.
