About the wine

The almost 100-year-old company of the Medici Ermete winery is based in the middle of Emilia-Romagna. Over the decades, the Medici family has succeeded in becoming one of the most important Lambrusco producers in the region through experience, tradition, care and love for wine. The vineyards are located in the production area of Lambrusco Reggiano DOC on the Enza River. The gravel soil is particularly suitable for growing selected grapes. Vinification and storage of the wine are carried out using the most advanced technologies in modern facilities with temperature control. The family currently owns a total of around 60 ha of vineyards in 3 different zones. Today, the Lambrusco of the Medici Ermete winery is represented on the most important markets in the world and the name stands for both good quality and natural appearance. The winery's declared goal is to constantly improve the quality of its wines using modern technology, but taking into account the centuries-old wine tradition.

Tasting note
Deep ruby red, dry, sparkling wine with a fruity bouquet. Strong, rustic on the palate, with refreshing acidity on a harmonious finish. Drunk cold, it is wonderful to combine with summer cheese and cold meat platters, but also with a hearty sausage salad and is a great treat with salsicce, wiedikerli and other grilled sausages. In summer heat, this cheerful, unpretentious wine can definitely be drunk as a thirst quencher or instead of a beer during a soccer match.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with Italian antipasti such as Parma ham or mortadella, filled pasta, lasagna, grilled meat or aged cheese. Also ideal as a fresh accompaniment to a rich snack platter.
Vinification
Charmat process: The first alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks, where the wine is then stored at very low temperatures. The second fermentation then takes place in a pressure tank.
