With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Borgo del Tiglio - Manferrari masters this red wine in the fertile and blooming landscape of Friuli. This distinctive Merlot 2011 — Collio Rosso della Centa IGT is a triumph down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you offer this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or duck.

Tasting note
Nicola Manferrari, an extremely talented oenologist and winemaker, silent creator and restless researcher, is committed to natural production using traditional methods. Right behind the Borgo, where he has set up a sparkling clean wine cellar, the steep slopes of Collio begin, which are probably among the best things to find in the region. He is particularly famous for his whites. He produces red wines in homeopathic quantities, but they are among the finest in the up-and-coming Friuli region. His cuvée La Centa is a selection of various plots, which he has been following and studying in detail individually in terms of their development and characteristics for over 10 years. The grapes obtained are vinified separately in small oak barrels and only in a later phase does Manferrari combine the individual parts to form the perfect blend.

Goes well with lamb, beef, veal, venison, pork and grilled meat.

Ein paar Worte zur Vinifikation: Das Anliegen von Nicola Manferrari, äusserst talentierter Oenologe und Winzer, stiller Schaffer und ruheloser Forscher, ist das naturnahe Produzieren unter Anwendung traditioneller Methoden. Gleich hinter dem Borgo, wo er einen blitzsauberen Weinkeller eingerichtet hat, beginnen die steilen Lagen des Collio, die wohl zum Besten gehören was in der Region zu finden ist. Berühmtheit hat er insbesondere mit seinen Weissen erlangt. Rotweine produziert er in homöopathischen Mengen, sie zählen aber zum Feinsten des aufstrebenden Friaul. Seine Cuvée La Centa ist eine Selektion aus verschiedenen Parzellen, die er einzeln in ihrer Entwicklung und Eigenheit seit über 10 Jahren genauestens verfolgt und studiert. Die gewonnenen Trauben werden separat in kleinen Eichenfässern vinifiziert und erst in einer späteren Phase fügt Manferrari die einzelnen Teile zur perfekten Assemblage zusammen.
