Tasting note
The intense start — a palette of fruit aromas (cherry, plum) combined with subtle notes of spice and aging (tobacco, cedarwood, roasted aromas) is revealed on the nose — suggests an exciting culinary experience. And truly: Little by little, there are different sides of this Merlot from Tessin. While the focus is initially on the typical aromas of the variety, it soon impresses with its melting and lots of ripe fruit. And finally, the palate and the lingering finale reveal juicy tannins and a fresh, fruity acid structure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with mushroom starters, polenta, cannelloni, ravioli, lamb stew, lamb appetizers.
Vinification
Aged for 14 months in traditional, large oak barrels and one batch in barrique (French oak)
