About the wine

More than 100 years of winegrowing, and since 1978, the Gallo family, more specifically: Gianfranco Gallo, has been running Vie di Romans, located between the Adriatic Sea and the Alps in Marino de Friuli. And he not only runs it, he leads it at the helm of Friuli. Because they work meticulously here, plus very slow fermentation, long yeast storage, and approval only two years after harvesting. The extremely long-lasting white wines have a sumptuous elegance and intense, exciting harmony that is not otherwise found in this perfection. Despite an impressive 60 ha and several 100,000 bottles, it is difficult to get around; these wines are too unusual, too outstanding, too in demand. Exceptional food and conversation companions!

Tasting note
Hand-forged Japanese knife Cutting elegance, such a silky, harmonious yet tart light to green fruit, the surface with a darker pattern, mineral structure, a touch of dark tones such as iron, ash, peat. On the palate like a gentle cut, glides razor-sharp through the mouth, it doesn't need any strength here, that's pure elegance around the tart minerality, nice. A Chardonnay like Japanese blacksmithing, the tart minerality creates such a fine, soft-cutting elegance, this perfect sharpness, the steel that never conceals the craft, dark earth, iron, lasting. Wonderfully elegant, mineral, tart and so harmonious Chardonnay!
