About the wine
Castello Monsanto is located in the core region, Chianti Classico, which is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. Sangiovese is mostly grown here. Laura Bianchi and her team take great care of the castle and the great wines.

Tasting note
Plum, blackberry, dark cherry, licorice, spicy notes of juniper and clove, graphite... an extremely complex aroma flows into the nose. Lively on the palate, well-structured on a medium body, silky tannin, mineral, and a pleasant fruit sweetness on the long finish. It is surprisingly fun at a young age, but will develop even more with a few years of storage.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty Tuscan dishes such as bistecca or wild boar. Also great with mushroom dishes, stews and hard cheese.
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation for 18 to 20 days. Aging half in 3800l oak barrels and half in used tonneaux for 18 months and for one year in bottle.
