Chianti Classico DOCG/b 2024 - Castellare di Castellina

Castellare's Chianti Classico does not contain any international varieties. This was an important concern of owner Paolo Panerai right from the start. Sangiovese and Canaiolo form the basis. This is intended to retain the most typical and famous Italian wine recipe. Castellare didn't want to chase fashion. Depending on the vintage, 1 to 2 percent Colorino is added. The grapes come from our own surrounding, calcareous sites at an altitude of 400 meters. The wine is vinified in steel tanks (15 to 20 days) and aged in 225 and 500 liter barriques and tonneaux. It shows a racy, lively bouquet, elegant and fine, with spicy notes (pepper) and berries (blackberries, blackcurrants) and a hint of vanilla. The start is smooth, elegant, light and slim on the palate. “Un vino che ricerca, con la tipicità, la massima eleganza.”
