About the wine
The Davaz family's parents' winery in Fläsch was not big enough to guarantee an income for the two sons, and so Johannes Davaz moved to the Poggio al Sole estate near Tavernelle, which was acquired in 1990. Trained in Wädenswil, he and his wife rebuilt the run-down property and let it shine in its former glory. The efforts have paid off. With their honest, straightforward and typical wines, Poggio al Sole is currently one of the absolute top companies in Chianti Classico.

Tasting note
Dark ruby red with purple reflections, rich bouquet of ripe wild berries accompanied by fine spicy tones, in the mouth full and round with racy tannins, long-lasting.
Culinary recommendation
A perfect accompaniment to hearty pasta dishes, poultry and veal.
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 20 days, aging for 14 months in large Slovenian oak barrels and in used barriques.
