The Chenin Blanc Camino Africana was produced with an absolute minimum of intervention to give the old vines the opportunity to express the true aromas of the location and variety with as gentle a human touch as possible. The wine has an unmistakable minerality and the salty umami flavor on the palate, which can only be found when the vines have struggled to assert themselves in the soil for decades. This wine means something very special to winemaker David Finlayson and is part of his journey through life and wine in South Africa, hence the name Camino Africana, “The African Way.”
