About the wine
The family winery Domaine de la Charbonnière has been run by Caroline and Véronique Maret under the name EARL Michel Maret et Filles since 2004. Her father Michel is often there and supports his daughters with his knowledge and experience. Nevertheless, all Véronique wines are personally vinified and she creates elegant cuvées of the highest quality year after year, which also attract international attention.

Tasting note
Deep ruby red, pure and breathtaking aromas of garrigue, red fruits and pepper on the nose. The palate is extremely concentrated with lots of finesse and plenty of juicy tannins. The structure is extremely powerful, there is a lot of complexity and precision in the aroma, raspberries, spices and stone fruit. The aftertaste is long and velvety with a slight salty note.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with herb crusted lamb chops, game dishes, roast beef, ratatouille or aged French hard cheese such as Comté or Tomme de Savoie.
Vinification
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are destemmed, subjected to a controlled maceration period and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and in large wooden barrels. The wine is aged in large wooden barrels and burgundy barrels before the wine is bottled and sold.
