Glen Carlou was founded in 1985 and is therefore a relatively young winery that has built up an enviable reputation as one of South Africa's leading producers. Nestled in the heart of the Paarl wine region, with vineyards on the foothills of the famous Simonsberg.

Tasting note
Clear yellow The aroma is exotic fruits, vanilla and toasted tones. Strong body, rich and complex. Long aftertaste. A classic French-style Chardonnay.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with smoked salmon, grilled prawns, lobsters or crawfish. Thanks to its volume and power, it can also accompany poultry and veal.
Vinification
Ein paar Worte zur Vinifikation: Dieser Chardonnay wird klassisch in französischen Barriques von 225l und 300l Inhalt vergoren. Der anschliessende Ausbau erfolgt für 10 Monate auf der Hefen in Barriques. Dabei wird 1/3 Neuholz, 1/3 1-jähriges Holz und 1/3 2-jähriges Holz verwendet.
