About the wine
The story of Mount Eden Vineyards began with winemaker Martin Ray, who began planting vines on a ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1945. Today, this winery comprises 16 hectares, which are mainly planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mount Eden is said to have the longest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir tradition in North America. Since 1981, it has been managed by Jeffrey Patterson, who is responsible for the consistently high wine quality, which is even comparable to that of Monte Bello Ridge.

Tasting note
Intense notes of salted lemon, ripe apple and pear, plus honey, butter and fine roasted aromas from the wood. On the palate, with fine, creamy fullness and focused acidity. Persistent aftertaste with slightly salty minerality and aromas of lemon and cardamom.

Vinification
The selected grapes are harvested manually and then gently pressed. For subsequent fermentation, biological acid degradation and aging, the wine is stored in 66% new and 33% one-year-old French Burgundy barrels. After 10 months, the wine is blended and aged in the bottle for a further two years before being released for sale.
