About the wine
The fertile and blooming landscapes of Friuli give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Venica & Venica conjures up this white wine with refinement and sensitivity. This dominant white wine 2016 — Chardonnay Collio Bernizza DOC is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Tasting note
Since the 1970s, the Giorgio and Gianni Venica brothers and their families have built up a first-class winery step by step in Collio (Friuli), which has stood out in particular for its wide variety of varieties that is second to none. And the best thing about it is that every single wine has an excellent price/pleasure ratio. This includes the single-varietal Chardonnay, which matures at least one third in large oak barrels, but not in barriques. The rest comes from the stainless steel tanks. This ensures that the varietal specificity is expressed to the fullest with its flattering, stimulating character. The wine is delicately spicy and lively.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aperitifs, antipasti, fish, charchuterie.
Vinification
Die Vinifikation fand wie folgt statt: Die Trauben werden vor dem Pressen für zwölf Stunden kaltmazeriert. Ein Drittel des Mosts reift während fünf Monaten in 2700-Liter-Fässern, der Rest in Stahltanks.
