Tasting note
This 1er cru champagne comes in a rose gold robe. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe peach, raspberry, acacia, roasted almonds, toast and spicy aromas of thyme and some barley. On the palate, the wine is lean and elegant with very fine perlage, a wonderful harmony between fruit and spice, some mint, an animating acidity and a long-lasting and silky finish. A top winemaker champagne with good aging potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with gougères, pies, pasta with vegetables, aperitif plates and cheese.
Vinification
The grapes for this cuvée come from the three 1er cru vineyards Ludes, Chigny-les-Roses, Rilly-la-Montagne and from the Grand Cru Verzy vineyard. The grapes are fermented with natural yeasts and the resulting wine ripens on fine lees over the winter. 80% of the wine is aged in steel tanks and 20% in 500-liter oak barrels. In May of the following year, the wines are bottled, where they then undergo the second fermentation. The champagne is then aged in the bottle for at least 24 months before disgorging and being dosed at a very low dose (3g/liter). The first Champagne Mes 4 Terroirs comes exclusively from the 2020 vintage and no reserve wines were used.
