About the wine
Do you already know the strong red wine Cederberg Shiraz from the 2016 vintage? If not, it's time! The winemaker from the South African winery Cederberg greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you offer this Shiraz with barbecue or roasted vegetables.

Tasting note
The 2020 Cederberg Shiraz is everything you want from a quality Shiraz and more. On the nose, a variety of aromas, including ripe plums and mulberries, rhubarb, Moroccan spices such as cloves and nutmeg, and freshly ground black pepper. On the palate, it is opulent with a sensual, velvety texture and silky tannins. This wine is harmonious in its course from nose to palate and its incredible length.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with fried pork belly with Chinese five spices and pickled ginger, glazed pork ribs or a lamb stew pot. It is also a perfect partner for grilled eggplants and giant black mushrooms or hard, aged cheese such as Cheddar or Parmigiano Reggiano.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand between 24.5 and 26° Oechsle and cold macerated for 2 days before the mash is inoculated with the yeast crops. During fermentation at 27°C, the color and flavor are extracted by regularly pumping around every six hours and manually beating off the pomace hat two to three times. After fermentation is complete, a further 10-14 days of maceration on the skins before the wine is pressed and stored in 225l French oak barrels. The malolactic fermentation is completed in barrels and further aging takes place over 15 months.
