Tasting note
The Selección is deep cherry red with garnet reflections. On the nose, aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, wild strawberries, dried plums and spicy notes of rosemary, thyme, licorice and some vanilla inspire. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and dense, with lots of berry fruit, spicy notes of tobacco and smoke, powdery tannins and a long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes wonderfully with barbecues, stews, sausages and cheese
Vinification
The grapes for the Selección come from a selection of grapes from old vines from the small vineyard called La Travesaña. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months, partly in French and partly in American barriques, before being bottled and aged in the bottle for at least one year.
