About the wine
Saraja’s Carignano Isola dei Nuraghi IGT feels fresh and lively, offering juicy fruit flavors and a smooth, easygoing character. It’s a straightforward red that’s perfect for relaxed evenings and good times with friends.
Tasting note
On the nose, intense aromas of plum and black cherry develop, accompanied by spicy notes, smoke and a touch of wet stone — an expression of the mineral-rich soils of the Sulcis region. On the palate, the wine is robust yet fresh, with juicy acidity, dark fruit and a hint of bitter chocolate. The structure is powerful but balanced, with a long, characterful finish.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with spicy tomato sauces, grilled sausages, salami or hearty Mediterranean meat dishes.
Vinification
The grapes come from lower-lying vineyards in southwestern Sardinia, where they grow on loamy soils with slate content. After manual harvesting at the end of September, maceration takes place for 14 days with regular pumping. The wine then ages in stainless steel tanks for 9 months and rests in the bottle for a further 2 months before being sold.
