About the wine
The Celler Cairats winery is located in Darmos, not far from the port city of Tarragona. In the middle of the D.O. Montsant wine region. With 2000 ha of cultivated vineyards, Montsant is one of the smallest wine regions in Spain. Together with Priorat, this is Catalonia's oldest wine-growing region. The private wine cellar was built back in 1906 and extensively renovated in 2010 and a new project was launched. The Carignan, Grenache and Tempranillo grape varieties are cultivated with passion and dedication.

Tasting note
Its aromas are characterized by complexity and good balance. On the palate, it is smooth, broad and fruity, harmonized by fine-meshed tannins with a touch of integrated acidity, which give it a long, fresh and persistent finish. Notes of wild berries, ripe red fruits and licorice.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 2017 - 2024. Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Goes well with red meat, vegetables and burgers with blue cheese.
Vinification
Aging for four months in stainless steel tanks on fine yeast (bâtonnage). It is then aged for eighteen months in French oak barrels (225 liters and 400 liters).
