Cabernet Franc 2019 - Stony Brook

This wine is only the second Cabernet Franc vintage produced in Stony Brook. It is a great example of excellent quality gained from a difficult year. After four days of cold maceration, the individual berries were fermented in stainless steel and pressed after drying. The wild malolactic fermentation took place in 225 liter French oak barrels, in which the wine was aged for 20 months before being lightly filtered and bottled. Explosive bright red fruits are immediately visible on the nose. Lots of deeply layered aromas followed by a juicy, full palate. Bright natural acidity and robust tannins give this wine the ability to age for many years, although it can also be celebrated in its youth. Drink now for freshness and vibrancy, or cellar it for up to 15 years if you prefer a secondary, heartier red wine.
