About the wine
This strong red wine 2015 — Cabernet Franc is a triumph down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Wonderful and sunny landscapes of the coastal region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the South African winery Glenelly conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
The nose seduces with a character of dried thyme, oregano and cape fynbos. The palate is dominated by aromas of dark cherries, blueberries and graphite, which gives it great interest. The tannins are silky and the aftertaste is long and soft.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with a braii steak.
Vinification
The grapes were crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 2-3 weeks with regular pump overs and then pressed. The wine was transferred to 300 liter French wooden barrels for malolactic fermentation and aged there for 12 months.
