About the wine
The Californian veteran rock with Ticino roots produces extremely long-lasting wines year after year, which often only become accessible after eight to ten years, lose their rigor and gain enormous depth. Togni is a traditionalist as he is written in the book. Insiders have long known how good mature tognis are. They compare them to the best Pauillacs. And this is confirmed time and again by comparisons of Cabernets of the same age from Bordelais and Californians. This was the 1990 vintage, when Togni won a huge victory ahead of Gruaud Larose and Leoville Las Cases as well as Latour.

Tasting note
On the nose, the wine is reminiscent of South Tyrolean Moscato Rosa. In fact, it is Großvernatsch or Black Hamburg. Ripe blackberries, dark cherries, almost liqueur-like, plus ripe figs and plum jam. Almost viscous viscosity on the palate, exotic fruits, concentrated, very long finish. Great unique sweet wine!
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: Enjoy this red wine at a slightly chilled 7-12°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 2007 - 2027.

Minimal yields, selective hand picking, aging in French wood.
