About the wine

The snappy Sangiovese 2010 — Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Sangiovese is ideal to be served with lamb or beef.

Tasting note
With the last vintage in 2004, the Brunello Riserva from Terralsole was voted one of the 100 best wines in the world by WineSpectator — a vintage of the century, but one that will probably only be really fun to drink in 4-5 years. The Brunello Riserva impresses with intense aromas of cherries, dark berries, wild herbs, some tobacco, well-integrated velvety tannins, a delicate personality and pleasant acidity. It is already ready to drink today, but will continue to be at the highest level for a few more years. An incredibly complex and elegant Brunello of great class
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty meat dishes, game and game fowl, Wellington beef fillet and rabbit stew, etc.
Vinification
The grapes for this Brunello grow on marl soils about 250 meters above sea level in the best locations in Montalcino and are all picked very carefully by hand. In order not to damage the grapes, no pumping processes are carried out in the winery. All work steps are carried out with the aid of gravitational force. After cool fermentation, the wine is aged for around 28 months in 600-liter French oak tonneaux (Alliers and Troncais) and then in the bottle. Brunello Riserva will be on the market at the earliest on January 1 of the sixth year following the harvest.
