The winemaker from the Italian winery Braida / Giacomo Bologna is absolutely proficient in his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the picturesque and sunny Piedmont countryside. Tasting note
Deep, powerful ruby with purple reflections. Profound and complex on the nose with notes of precious wood, spice, licorice and licorice. Fruity notes of ripe plums, plus some vanilla. Wonderfully dense and rich on the palate. Fine-grained tannins of high quality. Juicy, well-integrated acidity with plum and cherry aromas. Roasted aromas are added. Compact, long-lasting finish that shows good shelf life.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty dishes such as brasato with polenta.
Vinification
The Barbera vines in the Bigotta vineyard are slightly younger than those from Uccellone. After harvesting and subsequent maceration, the young wine is aged in French barriques for around 18 months, then aged in the bottle for a further twelve months.
