The winemaker from the Italian winery Conterno Fantino is absolutely proficient in his craft. Tasting note
The aromas of anise express a lot of character with a very unique structure. Afterwards, the delicate nuances of roses and cherries reveal their own character. A fruity red wine with a strong body and outstanding acidity, which unfolds its complex structure with rich tannins on the tongue and palate.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team tip: Goes perfectly with truffle risotto, beef and prosciutto. Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 2011-2022.
Vinification
Information on vinification: The grapes are carefully harvested to obtain a long-lasting product of great structure. Traditional winemaking: Gentle destemming and grinding followed by 8-day maceration. Once the optimal ratio of color and tannin has been reached, the must tapping and the first removals take place. The wine is stored in oak barrels of Slovenian origin for around 2-4 years, but certainly until the harmony between the various elements of the wine has fully developed.
