About the wine
Between Dijon and Paris, on the banks of the Serein, a tributary of the Seine, there is the charming Chablis wine region associated with Burgundy. The Chardonnay vine thrives excellently on the heavily calcareous soils. The success story of J. Moreau & Fils began back in 1814. Today, the winery is one of the oldest houses in the region. At that time, the young cooper J. Moreau settled in Chablis, where he married the daughter of a local winemaker. Over the years, the pioneer in the Chablis region has become one of the most important Chablis producers. His know-how is just as highly regarded as the style of the wines, which are uncompromisingly terroir-oriented. What Jean-Joseph Moreau began more than 200 years ago with passion and love for viticulture is now in the hands of oenologist Lucie Depuydt. Born in Chablis, she has the knack for getting the best out of every grape. J. Moreau & Fils has been part of the Boisset family since 1985.
