Goldmine is a Cape White Blend that is shaped by the character of five of our unique wineries, each contributes to the depth and diversity of our exceptional terroir with a grape variety. Semillon aged in wood gives structure and durability, Swartland Chenin Blanc brings texture and richness, Chardonnay from the cool south coast provides freshness and precision, and Viognier complements the cuvée with a fine aromatic note. As a Wine of Origin Western Cape, Goldmine combines these widely scattered locations into a harmonious composition. The name stands for something precious and durable, a silent expression of South Africa's natural wealth, created for people who value depth, character and the reward of patience. Chenin Blanc, Semillon and Viognier matured in a combination of used 2 500-liter French oak barrels, concrete eggs and clay amphoras. Chardonnay was the only ingredient that was aged in new French barriques. Depending on the component and vineyard, the maturation period was between 12 and 14 months.
