About the wine

The young and rebellious Tomeu Llarés is a sixth-generation winemaker. The small family winery covers just 3 hectares of vineyards and is located in Binissalem, in the interior of the island of Mallorca, at an altitude of 100 to 150 m above sea level. The story of Ca'n Verdura began in 2010 when Tomeu and his father pressed the first red wine L'Origen of origin in a garage. Today, as in the past, everything is produced entirely by hand. Tomeu is an advocate of indigenous grape varieties such as Mantonegro or Premsal and breathes new character and freshness into these traditional varieties with creativity and innovation. He wants to bottle the island character unadulterated and, in his opinion, no grape variety is better suited for this than Mantonegro.
