About the wine
The Chardonnay grapes come from two plots at the western end of Santa Rosa Road. Both locations benefit from a cool northerly orientation and extremely rocky soils. After manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation and aging takes place for 11-12 months in French 228 liter, 350 liter and 500 liter oak barrels with approx. 25% new wood content. The wine and the trub are then aged for a further 6-7 months in steel tanks before being bottled

Tasting note
Bentrock Chardonnay is bright golden yellow. On the nose, fresh aromas of lemon confit, white flowers, lime zest and some gaphit inspire. On the palate, the wine is energetic and mineral, with lots of citrus fruit, vibrant acidity and a long-lasting, slightly salty finish. A top Chardonnay that receives top marks from the trade press every year.

Goes well with fish & seafood, poultry, terrines, cheese
Vinification
