About the wine
We have a special, strong Chardonnay from 2011 for you, which is a source of enthusiasm among many wine connoisseurs. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from Austrian Weingut Familie Umathum masters this white wine in the picturesque landscape of Burgenland. Tasting note
White, sweet quality wine from Austria. The dessert wine is golden yellow in color, the scent of honey with delicate caramel on the nose. The palate shows exotic fruit notes, a lively interplay between sweetness and acidity.

Goes well with blue cheese, aperitifs, desserts
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes are mashed in the cellar so that juice can escape and leach the sugar out of the shriveled berries. After two days, it is gently pressed and fermentation begins slowly. Only part of the sugar is converted into alcohol. Fermentation is stopped by cooling and thus a natural residual sugar is retained in the wine. This type of sweet wine has centuries of tradition. The area around Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland is one of the most important areas for this sweet wine.
