Baumpresse Riesling 2015 - Nikolaihof Wachau

The Baumpresse Riesling comes from vineyards around Mautern and was obtained with the historic Nikolaihof tree press, a wooden press over 350 years old with a 12-meter long press tree. In a particularly slow pressing process of over ten hours, the grapes are pressed gently and under controlled contact with oxygen. This results in a wine with pronounced tertiary development, with notes of ripe fruit, fine spiciness and a hint of nutty. On the palate, the wine appears rich, round and opulent, with a rich texture and great concentration. At the same time, the precise, solid acidity ensures freshness, elegance and balance. The fine texture and long, complex aftertaste underline the unique character of this wine.
