About the wine
The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it was only when Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter winemaker and turned everything upside down, that the glorious times of the 1960s to the 1980s are built on again. Gut Hermannsberg only owns large vineyards and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of prime locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is being showered with lots of praise, points and awards.

Tasting note
Downhill - flow and spectacle, warm, distinctive fruit, with confident coolness, plus this pull, this pace, sometimes gentle passages, and then again rougher, warm, dark minerality, unshakable substance. Soft on the palate, flies downhill, wind, equally soft soil and lots of stone, gently dark minerality, goes richly and confidently over the obstacles, the sweet, orange, almost red fruit smoothes out the tart, rugged notes, great maturity and substance - and this incomparable Riesling acid, dry. Spectacular Riesling, distinctive, self-confident, dark, fascinating intoxication.
Culinary recommendation
Very big solo and at the table - it also takes on hearty dishes.
Vinification
Selective harvest by hand. The crushed grapes remain macerated for 48 hours, spontaneous fermentation and 18 months of yeast storage in barrels. Late release!
